First of all I would like to start by saying a big thank you to the Cake Decorating Store who kindly asked me to review their new range of Squires Kitchen sugarpaste. Here is the link to the overall sugarpaste collections:

They very kindly sent me some free samples to try out and review for them, they sent me Cosmic blue, Bridal rose and Mocha Cream.

First impressions were that the colours are lovely, very vivid and different from the normal bog standard colours you see, and for £1.99 for 250g I think they are very good value for money.
I had a variety of different projects I used the sugarpaste for over a couple of weeks which gave me a good opportunity to use it several times. I found it easy to roll and handle and only minimal amount of cornflour was needed to stop it sticking to my worktop. When I was done I wrapped it back up in the packet and put it in a sandwich bag and sealed it, it kept really well from one week to the next and there was no noticeable different when I rolled it out again unlike some other brands I have used that have dried up or changed colour slightly - another plus for the squires sugarpaste.
In conclusion I thoroughly recommend the new Squires Sugarpaste range and I will certainly be using it again in the future, many thanks to the Cake Decorating Store :-)
Check out the pictures below to see some of the projects I used this sugarpaste on.
Firstly a couple of (not great pictures!!) pictures from a family fun day where we took 100 cupcakes all decorated differently. I used the squires sugarpaste to make sea monsters, dinosaurs and a very happy pig rolling in chocolate mud.
My personal favourite!
Next up was an order of 6 "carp" themed fish cupcakes. Again the carp were made from the squires sugarpaste
Close up of one of the carp
A 16th birthday cake giant cupcake decorated with the pink squires sugarpaste and some purple which I coloured using Wilton colours and white Satin Ice icing
Lastly a construction themed cake for a roof truss designer. Both the green grass base and the red house base are vanilla cake with vanilla icing and then the roof trusses were constructed (with some help from my husband for the logistics of it) using squires sugarpaste.
I hope you have enjoyed looking at my review and the projects I used them for and that maybe this will inspire you to get creative in the kitchen! Until next time, happy baking.
